Help Vasantham Pay for Food and Medicine
Hi there!
When Roma Tewari and I(Kavya Jeevanantham) first heard about Vasantham School and Home for People with Special Needs through a volunteer, Soma Joshi, we were in absolute awe at the message they spread. We knew that we had to get the Hopkinton, MA community involved to support Vasantham during these trying times.
Vasantham is a school and home for individuals with special needs established in 1989 located in Chennai, India. Their mission statement is to "Challenge the Challenges'' as the foundation's primary goal is to empower individuals (children and adults) with special needs such as intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities, to be as independent as possible so they can provide for themselves one day. Vasantham teaches their students to do everything they need to do to be independent while dealing with their disability. These objectives are facilitated through classroom teaching, celebrations which are theme-based learning, and activities such as sports day.
How the funds will be spent:
We are raising funds for essentials such as groceries (fruits, vegetables, milk) and medicine. Groceries are about $410 per month, and medical expenses run from around $68-137 per month. We are hoping to raise $1,500 or more to ensure 3-4 months of food and medical expenses for those at Vasantham are covered through future COVID-19 lockdowns. The funds will be managed by us and will be exchanged and wired directly to Vasantham School and Home for People with Special Needs. Any form of support is appreciated, such as donating a couple of dollars or sharing and supporting our cause!
Management of the funds:
Funds will be directly managed and sent to Vasantham via Pay Pal through their online donation portal located on their website by Roma Tewari, Kavya Jeevanantham, and Tapan Tewari (Parent).
