Support our struggling nurses and midwives

Donation protected
NMC Watch provides peer to peer support to nurses and midwives going through the NMC Fitness to Practice process.

Many find themselves in front of the NMC following a one off incident in a long career of sometimes decades. Often this does not involve any patient harm but does involve a breach of our Code of conduct or concerns on Public Interest Grounds.
For a nurse or midwife without any legal representation the outlook can be bleak and many just disengage from the process which is not helpful to them or the profession.

Krishinda is one such member. As a midwife she attended a lady in a support role and found herself in a situation that she had to intervene. She referred herself to the NMC as she realised the situation had got out of control which was the professional thing to do. As a result her previous employer raised some ongoing concerns they had about her practice - an employer she had concerns herself about - this has resulted in Krishinda being suspended from the nursing register until the NMC investigate further.

On Monday we are supporting Krishinda at the review hearing of her Suspension Order. As volunteers we do this because it's the right thing to do but it involves a lot of work and a lot of time to prepare.

Any money you raise will help us to continue to do the work we do and ensure more nurses and midwives like Krishinda are supported.

Mistakes happen - how we respond to them is the difference.
