On September 26th I will be walking the 329km to Cairns to raise money for the Stillbirth Foundation Australia and walk the steps that Hunter couldn’t. The walk will take 7 days, averaging around 50km a day.
This foundation is close to my heart as my wife and I lost our son Hunter at 32 weeks gestation to stillbirth in September 2022. Finding out that our son had passed away was something you don’t ever want to hear, the pain and trauma was something I had never felt. The feeling of not being able to see him grow up to be a beautiful boy was and still is hard to comprehend. We still to this day have no explanation as to why our Hunter died and this is why the research that the Stillbirth Foundation Australia does is so important to try and prevent this from happening to other women and families. So, to honour our boy Hunter and the other families that have lost their babies to stillbirth, I want to raise as much money as possible and donate to the Stillbirth Foundation Australia. This foundation continues to provide research, education and advocacy that is very much needed. Currently six Australian families a day are still losing their babies to stillbirth, let’s change this and donate in Hunter’s honour.
