50 birthday parties for 50 deserving homeless kids
Children who are homeless or in foster care don't always get to celebrate their birthdays. More often than not, their special day goes unnoticed. This is very sad, especially considering that birthday celebrations are an important part of a child's healthy upbringing.
There are 443,000 children in the foster care system and 2.5 million children that are homeless in America. They deserve to celebrate their special day despite their circumstances. Birthday Candles for Kids is a nonprofit organization that prepares fully personalized birthday parties for homeless and fostered children. Our mission is to ensure that all these children receive the resources necessary to celebrate their day.
Birthday Candles for Kids is celebrating its fifth year. During this time we have prepared 84 parties, but we want to do more!
