The Foxwarren District Rec Centre (FDRC) is excited to announce we have received approval to repair the structural damage caused during the August 2024 wind storm. The "rebuild the roof" fundraising campaign is officially underway.

Why is the facility important? People near and far, current and past residents are connected to this amazing facility. 100s of 1000s of children, youth and adults have laced up to skate or play hockey in the "Coldest Rink in North America" over the years. It's hosted too many minor hockey games, extended season tournaments, and championships to count. This iconic arena, built in 1949 by local volunteers is known for it's amazing ice, tasty home-made food, unique architecture and wonderful community volunteers. The facility is also a gathering place to visit, socialize and host community events like auction sales, weddings, funerals, and family functions.

How can you help? Large or small donations are welcome; every dollar is meaningful and will help us reach our $200,000 goal. FDRC is a non-profit community organization, which can issue tax receipts on request. They say, "it takes a village" and FDRC is calling on past and present user groups, families and friends to reflect on their memories of the Foxwarren rink and support this worthy cause.
