HELP DADDY COME HOME

Hello,

We're Barbara Ann, Charles Harrison and Tracey Lynn and we're the children of Charles & Gwendolyn Silas. Our parents just celebrated 57 years of marriage and have lived in the same home they've owned for 57 years. They raised us 3 kids in this home and their grandkids and great grandkids spent years in this building also. Our parents are now having multiple health issues that makes mobility difficult, our Father especially. He has advanced Parkinsons and is now hospitalized. Our father told us a few years ago when we tried to move them into a Senior Living Building that if we made him leave his home he would die. We decided to not make them move and we had to adjust many things to keep their lives comfortable. The back porch of their two flat building was falling apart so it had to be torn down and a brand new back porch was built. The work was just completed a week ago and now their building is safe again. Now we are told by doctors at the hospital that our father will be moved from the hospital to a Nursing Home because their home is too dangerous for him to go to because there are a lot of stairs that we can't safely get him up to get him in the house. We do everything we can to make our Parents life comfortable. Asking for outside help is something we just don't do. But for the first time in our lives we are asking for help. We are trying to raise funds for a wheelchair ramp and a chair lift to help our Daddy and Mother be able to stay in their home and so we can bring Daddy home from the Nursing Home as soon as possible. This is humbling for us to even reach out for help because we're used to doing everything on our own but here we are doing whatever we have to do to help our Parents.
