Still looking up.

This is Cliff from Mountain Stove in Sandpoint ID. One of my best employees, Javan Haley, and his family have recently gone through some very difficult hits. Javan is a good man, a family man to the core, a veteran and a Godly man. I know that when Javan tells me he will do something, he does it. It is a pleasure having him with us.

Tuesday, Javan needed to go home early to help take care of his wife who was about 2 months pregnant. Unfortunately, that afternoon a miscarriage took place. Later an ambulance was called to take her in as his wife needed to have an emergency medical procedure. The good news is that his wife is ok and home now and healing.

On Thursday, Javan had his 5 kids in the car, taking them out on an errand and giving his wife some quiet time, when his vehicle went out of control on very icy roads. As he was trying to regain control there was a collision. An ambulance was called to verify the condition of the kids, especially the one who was closest to the point of impact. Initially everyone checked out ok but later that night Javan needed to take him in due to pain. He was later released to go home and is recovering. The good news is everyone seems to be making tracks toward good health.

The bad news is that although they carried car insurance, it was minimal and is not enough to cover many of the medical expenses or the loss of his vehicle. My wife and I have started an in-company fundraiser to help them. Although no one was obligated in any way to help I was pleasantly surprised when a customer of ours got wind of it and came in just to add to the fund and offer his assistance to Javan and his family. This helped me realize that there are a lot of good people out there who have big hearts and a willingness to help out. Not only did co-workers pitch in but community people wanted to help too.

Anytime would be a hard time to take those kinds of hits. Just before Christmas makes it that much harder. Javan is still looking up to see the positives in it all. He is thankful that his wife and kids are ok and on their way to recovery. You are reading this because you heard about it and your heart wanted to reach out, to find out more and possibly help. There is no obligation, just the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of a wonderful family!

Thank you so much for your consideration,
Cliff
