Put a smile on a little boys face (Nintendo switch)

Hi, it’s likely if you are reading this you have already heard about my nephew, Mimi.

It has been a very scary and emotional past few days for us all but we are thinking positive and reminding our self’s it could have been much worse.

On Wednesday, Mimi, ran out of a culdi sac to get his football and was hit by a car. He has broken his femur bone on his left leg and his knee bone on his right. He has been transferred to Alderhay (Liverpool) last night and is due to have operations today on both legs to have metal work done (pins, screws, wires). They are not 100% certain on the exact detail until he’s on the operating table and they can see properly what they are dealing with.
Mimi is currently in and out of pain between doses despite being given morphine, ibuprofen, paracetamol (although I believe he now has diazepam which has settled him a little). He is frustrated that he can’t move, falling to sleep is especially proving difficult because he can’t get comfy and he is, as you can imagine, a very sad little boy right now.

Mimi is expected to be in a wheel chair for the next 2/3 months. He will not be able to walk or even attempt to use his legs at all. As expected, he will need to regain muscle strength, will need physio therapy and a lot of recovery time once his bones have ‘healed’.

I know how much this will have affected the wider community, how much we pull together at times like this and always wish we could do more to help. So, my idea is we raise money to buy little man a Nintendo switch off ‘his friends.’ Considering the amount of time he is going to spend not being able to do the things he loves like, run around playing football with friends and going to the park, I think this would be lovely for him to have, to play on alone and with his friends when he eventually gets home.

Also, I really want to start a collection of photos of Michael with his friends so I can get a card made with them on to give to him. So, even if you can’t donate money, please still send photos!!! It’s all about doing something nice for him to make him smile. Thank you!!
