THE PURPLE LADIES WOULD LIKE TO RAISE MONEY TO HELP HARRY, ISLA, NICOLE AND RICH HAVE A SPECIAL FAMILY DAY OUT TOGETHER ONCE HARRY HAS RECOVERED - THE LADIES WILL BE SLEEPING IN THE OLD SCHOOL HALL FOR 1 NIGHT ONLY AND WOULD BE VERY VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD SPONSOR US. PLEASE READ HARRY'S STORY AND SPONSOR US TO HELP THEM HAVE A VERY SPECIAL DAY OUT

Harry is 7 years old and due to spend the next 3 months in Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London. For those of you who don't know Harry, since he was 6 months old and we found ourselves in Northampton General Hospital we were told he may never crawl/walk/talk or understand anything of the world around him due to an inconclusive MRI on his brain. It turns out Harry was diagnosed within weeks to have Epilepsy. We knew as parents this just wasn't going to be his story or journey in life and never gave up that those Drs were wrong.

How wrong they were! Harry attended Harpole Pre School from aged 2 and then went onto mainstream schooling with the help of the fantastic purple ladies determination to help him achieve his very best. Harry goes to Eldean Primary and really enjoys school but has missed lots of it. Since June 2016 he has had 3 surgeries to help treat his Scoliosis. One of many of his problems he faces everyday. However things have gone wrong and Harry now faces a very different sort of treatment which is quite extreme. Especially in someone so young.

Harry is currently in what's called Halo tibial traction and has to lay on a specially designed Stryker bed frame where he is turned many times throughout the day from his front to his back. He cannot get out of bed. He is unable to be as active as he once was. This is so his spine can be very slowly stretched in an area where he has what can only be described as a dislocation and in this area his spinal cord is being compromised. If left untreated he would become paralysed, not if but when.

Once Harry has spent 6 weeks (possibly more if the treatment is successful) When he has has been fully stretched to as much as his spinal can tolerate he will then have a spinal fusion in the area being stretched. With another 6 weeks of bed rest. Harry faces a lengthy period of instability in his life as well on rehabilitation to get him back to his usual mobile self. Which is another area of possible compromise. He may never gain the same level of physical health or be able to walk around. Something for us as parents is such a tough decision to have to make.

For us as a family to add to this difficult time we are also spending most of this time apart. Harry has a sister who throughout this time in hospital he will likely see for brief moments while me & Rich swap over at the hospital. We can only hope we are all back together in time for Christmas and Harry's in good health and most importantly he is happy!
