Next March, 5 of us from Purdue Acts2Fellowship have the opportunity to go on a mission trip with Filter of Hope to the Dominican Republic. The mission of Filter of Hope is to provide clean water to the underprivileged and to share the message of the gospel. We're really excited to take part in this mission, to make an impact in the lives of those in Dominican Republic, and to learn about their culture.
Thousands of children die every week because they drink contaminated water, and over 4 billion people currently face eternity separated from God. We're thankful that we can do something to change these disheartening numbers though. By distributing simple, life-saving water filters, we can provide families living in poverty easy access to clean, safe drinking water. Each filter produces up to 250 gallons a day for 10 years. Not only that, we're eager to see non-Christian families coming to understand the gospel as we have the opportunity to share with them about the living water that we have through Jesus.
With this mission in mind, we're reaching out to those in our network to support us. We need to raise $10,000 by Jan 31, 2024 to pay for the flight cost, for ground transportation once we arrive in the Dominican Republic, for a translator, and for five water filters. As of now, we do not have the funds to be able to go, but that’s where we're hoping that you could help us. Any amount of money helps, and we'd greatly appreciate it if you could support us today!
