Lough Ree Sub Aqua Search and Recovery unit was established in 1983 to provide a voluntary Search and Recovery service in the Longford-Roscommon region. Based in Lanesboro at the top of Lough Ree we have been involved in several searches and recoveries of missing persons in surrounding areas and also nationwide over the past 43 years. It can take up to 3 years to train an active S&R volunteer diver following CMAS guidelines and up to €6000 to fully kit out these divers. We're launching this fundraising campaign to help purchase some of this vital equipment to aid us in continuing to provide this service both in our locality and Midlands region. To date the team has assisted in searches in Blackrock Co. Mayo, Baltimore Co. Cork and Lough Corrib to name a few. We would welcome your support in helping our volunteers. Thank you.
