Running Loch Ness to bring comfort home.”

Hi, and thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.

On September 28th, a group of us will be taking on the incredible challenge of running the Loch Ness Marathon. Never in a million years did we think we would be part of something like this!

We all train at our local gym, The Fitness Factory, which has been such a supportive and encouraging community. A few of us have also joined our local running club, Greenock Glenpark Harriers, a group full of truly inspirational people.

As a nurse who has worked in the community for the past 12 years, I wanted to use this opportunity to raise funds for a vital piece of equipment—a continuous subcutaneous infusion (CSCI) pump. This small pump allows community nurses to give medication continuously under the skin, helping to manage pain and other symptoms so that people receiving end-of-life care can remain as comfortable and peaceful as possible at home.

More and more people are choosing to spend their final days at home, surrounded by the people they love. Community nurses and home carers play a vital role in making this possible, and having access to equipment like the CSCI pump ensures that comfort and dignity are always at the centre of care.
