Amish bred puppy needs shoulder surgery
Tax deductible
Mr. Happy is one of the larger of the litter of Great Pyrenees Anatolian mixes we took into rescue on August 4th. The litter of six was going to be shot by their Amish farmer owner because he no longer wanted to feed them.
Mr. Happy had a limp when he came in so we gave it a few weeks, to see if it might improve, but it has not. A trip to the Orthopedic Surgeon last Wednesday determined he has Osteochondritis - a condition that requires surgery in order for him to not suffer from continued pain and arthritis.
He is a happy boy, hence his name, and is a big goof ball and has such a sweet and gentle temperament. His tail never stops wagging. We have raised $994 towards the $2700 to pay for the surgery and diagnostic tests. The surgeon has been very generous in offering a 33% discount to us for the surgery.
In the mean time Happy is working on learning how to better walk on a leash. Currently he prefers the sit, "ass"ess and drag method which is hard on the handler!
Any amount of donation would be appreciated to help us raise the funds for the surgery he needs. Two of the six pups have been adopted, and one has an application on him. Happy, Henry and Diva are still in need of homes.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
More information about Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue: We rescue Great Pyrenees dogs and Great Pyrenees mixes from shelters and take in owner surrenders. The dogs are spayed and neutered and treated for medical issues before being available for adoption.
