Help Bring Comfort to Children in Trauma Recovery
You can help bring healing and hope to children in therapy who are recovering from trauma, abuse, or neglect. With a small donation, you can help purchase essential supplies—like yarn, safety eyes, stuffing, carabiner clips, and gas for deliveries—that go directly toward creating a meaningful connection for a child in need.
The organization serves an average of 400 children each month, from birth through age 18.
We have been able to deliver 90 to 100 handmade puppets every month—affectionately called “Secret Keepers”—to mental health therapists working with these children. My goal is to get as many as I can to the kiddos to keep as their own.
What is a Secret Keeper?
These special puppets are more than just toys. Therapists use them during sessions to help children feel safe, build trust, and express themselves through role play. They become trusted companions that “keep” a child’s deepest secrets in a safe, comforting place.
A Symbol of Hope
The butterfly puppet holds a special meaning—it represents a renewed life. These are lovingly made for children who have experienced the traumatic loss of a loved one, such as from violence, accidents, or abuse.

Results are everything
Watch how the Secret Keepers interact with this child:
A therapist told me that she had a client who wanted to self-hurt. When ever she felt the need, she would talk with her Secret Keeper until she felt better.
Upon their request, I now make all of them into puppets. The therapists find the kiddos interact more in therapy and they can get more information resulting in better treatment.
Even the therapists have their favorites that they carry with them for their own comfort. One can only imagine what kind of stories they have to keep sealed close to them as patient/doctor privilege is awarded to these precious children.
