Matthew Milla’s Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Hello all!

My name is Teresa Goodson. I am reaching out for prayer and funding support for my son, Matthew Milla to help him pay for the mental health and addiction support he needs.

Matthew is an intelligent, funny, musically talented 24 year old. Matt is about to be a father to a little son. His precious baby boy is due October, 25th. Matthew is a super good guy that has lost his way since his dad and I divorced in 2016.

Searching for love and support in all the wrong places, he found himself wrapped up with the wrong people doing the wrong things. He became depressed and turned to drugs and alcohol to cope.

After years of this, his depression and anxiety, worsened to the point of suicidal ideation, and anger, coupled with explosive behaviors.  His behaviors drove him to more drugs causing more destructive behaviors. It has become a vicious cycle that has affected Matthew and those that love him in so many ways.

These suicidal thoughts, behaviors, and substance abuse have left him feeling worthless, and unworthy of love. He walks through life self loathing, lonely and suicidal. It has left him and our family desperate for help, praying to God something will work and save him himself.

Matt has lost friends, jobs, and self love in the midst of his depression and drug abuse but he is ready to make a stand and fight for himself. He is committed to healing.

He is asking for support to get sober so he can get his life on track for the first time since he was 15 years old. He wants to be a good man, a good, brother, a good son, a great partner, and a loving father. He has hit his “rock bottom” and is ready to give in to treatment, therapy, and psychiatric help.

Matthew is being admitted to a residential treatment and mental health program in Flagstaff, Az called Back to Basics for a minimum of three months. Each element of the program will give Matthew time and space to get comfortable in his own mental health and sobriety while practicing sober living in recovery.

He’ll be physically challenged keeping his mind and body busy so he can start healing from the inside out. Through the program steps, Matthew will get into a sober routine, make healthy life decisions, build strong male friendships, learn how to step out of his comfort zone to face his fears while having the support necessary to stay on the road to long term recovery.

God sees Matthew and knows his particular story. Matthews story is not finished but needs a fresh start. Jesus heals and he will take the broken pieces of Matt’s story and make them whole and walk with Matthew step by step, to a new healing and wholeness.

Some of you have experienced similar situations with your children, your nieces and nephews, your husband, your brother, your parents. It may be too late for some of them but It’s not too late for Matthew. Please help us help him by donating today! The program costs up to $11,000 per month. All monies donated will go directly to the costs of care which will include, psychiatric management, one-on-one counseling using different modalities, group counseling, all housing expenses, food, and necessities, as well as, constant supervision from alumni peers trained in mental health and recovery.

Please donate what you can. Thank you all in advance for your donations and prayers.

God is good always especially when we endure hard things.

Blessings~Teresa

“No temptation has
overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you
be tempted beyond your
ability, but with the temptation
he will also provide the way
of escape, that you may be able
to endure it.”
