Puja's Fundraiser for SKY Teacher Training

Hello Everyone!

My name is Puja Paudel. I am a sophomore student at Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC) in Colorado and will be transferring to a 4-year university to pursue Computer Science this fall.

 

I took my SKY Happiness Retreat in 2016, and at that time I was a high school student. I vividly remember the transformation this retreat brought and changed my life in positive ways. For example, I used to be extremely shy and stay in the back of the class but after taking part in the SKY retreat I began to feel confident to talk among others, started participating in activities and sports in school and I felt Powerful!

 

The connections and the support from everyone from the SKY community have made me feel comfortable and I have found an inspiring, caring, and uplifting community that makes me feel at home every time. I started to volunteer, take Silence retreats, and a Leadership training program to enhance my potential and dive deeper into the path. I became a certified meditation facilitator and led national teams of over 15 people to bring SKY programs to various campuses.

 

 

 

I felt it was crucial to bring SKY Happiness retreat to PPCC with the rise of the pandemic; many were left stressed, uncertain, and separated from the community. The community, support, and student-life experiences were missing. When the PPCC reopened, I was thrilled and had the vision to make a difference and build a sense of community. As the President of Phi Theta Kappa at PPCC, a community service organization dedicated to building leaders through various service projects, I drove two major projects of offering SKY retreats to over 100 students, faculty, and staff. This experience of partnering with the community college and national service organizations gave me the confidence to take on this responsibility and allowed me to explore my leadership potential, leading with empathy and applying organizational management, ultimately securing a full grant for service projects.

 

 

Being in service with SKY Campus Happiness has allowed me to grow as a leader and felt inspired to go for a Teacher Training Course. SKY Campus Happiness and Art of Living has offered me more than I have ever expected and many avenues to grow as a leader. I hope to continue to stretch my hands in any way to make a difference in our own community, nation and the world. I am grateful to be on this journey, to fulfill Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's vision and provide breathwork and meditation to every corner of the world. Your contribution will help me become a SKY Meditation Teacher and to bring that vision to fruition.
