In December of 2022, I was given the opportunity to visit and photograph a small, one-room orphanage in Lahore, Pakistan, which houses 55 children between the ages of 2 and 16. The experience was nothing short of life-changing.

For their entire lives, these children have been deprived of the most basic human necessities. Few have visited a doctor or dentist, many have been terribly malnourished, and most importantly, they know little of human interaction outside the walls of the orphanage. These circumstances, as brutal as they may be, are no match for the sheer joy the children find in life. The laughter, happiness, and pure excitement which radiate through the walls of the orphanage are astounding and will remain with me forever. These children view each day, each meal, and each interaction as a gift, and as a result, they are able to find joy even when they have been dealt the toughest of hands.

So I make this post to raise awareness, and to ask for help. I want to help these children in any way that I can and have started a GoFundMe on their behalf. It costs $2 to feed one child for an entire week, so even the smallest of contributions will go a long way. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, and thank you for your help.
