Many businesses are still closed, leaving American citizens unemployed and unable to support themselves. Because this disaster happened in Puerto Rico instead of Pennsylvania, this information isn't on the front page anymore. Don't let this disaster fade out of the spotlight.
By helping the St. George's Youth Group with airfare and basic costs, you'll be sending 5 high schoolers, 2 college students, and 3 adults to spend 5 days this June directly helping citizens of San Juan get back on their feet through the non-profit YouthWorks. And you won't just be helping Puerto Rico—your donation will allow our Youth to see first hand the importance of hard work, community support, and volunteerism, as well as help them grow their faith.
The St. George's Youth Group are no strangers to volunteerism. Last year, our teens spent 5 days in a low-income community in Harrisburg PA where we met with local residents, rebuilt a community garden, and volunteered at a local food bank. They also spent the entire year fundraising to go on that mission trip by raking yards, donating services, making flower arrangements for mother's day, and hosted a community talent show, raising $4,000 for their trip.
This year, we have a committed group of teens that want nothing more than to be able to say that they made a difference in the life of someone who truly needed their help. Can you help us?
