PUBLIC STATUE OF SIR DAVID AMESS

Hi ,

My name is Andrew Lilley and I am a British sculptor.

We must all have been aware of the brutal murder of Sir David Amess in his constiuency office two years ago.

Sir David was an exemplary politician who was deeply loved by his Southend constituents and I have been profoundly moved by the support I have recieved from hisfamily ,friends and general public.

I made the decision to start the sculpture before any funds had been committed in the firm belief that this is a worthy cause and a fitting memorial.

My sculpture has the full support of Sir Davids' family who have told me : "We had hoped that one day a statue would be made....it brought tears to our eyes when we first saw it..It looks so much like him that it was deeply moving ."

The sculpture is almost ready to be cast in bronze so funds are now urgently needed.
