Give Me Your Tired

I have joined the Sanctuary Caravan, an organization bringing together community activists, faith leaders, immigration lawyers and others who are willing to travel to the border in San Diego and Tijuana to welcome and assist people trying to enter the US for asylum.  The response to my gofundme page has been very positive and people have been generous.  I am now preparing to leave for the border on January 8, 2019 and will stay, at least, two weeks.  There are 1500 people sleeping outside and in tents if they have one and there are 6000 more waiting to cross  the border. This is a humanitarian crisis as much as it is a test of our nation's fundamental ideals of welcoming the oppressed who flee for their lives to the US for asylum.

This is my final appeal for donations to support my service and to assist on the ground with food, water and shelter for those waiting to apply for asylum.  I hope I can make you proud that you supported me in this effort at this critical time in our nation's history.
