Hello, my name is Kika and I'm Frankie's aunt. This past Friday Frankie was diagnosed with a cancer called Stratum 2 Germinoma. This diagnosis came after he had been having continuous headaches for about 2 weeks. Frankie was taken to the ER where they found a growth in his brain and was later transported to Loma Linda to have more tests done. During his stay at Loma Linda, it was confirmed that Frankie had a tumor in his brain and he had to undergo brain surgery in order to get a biopsy of the tumor to see what exactly we were dealing with. After a long week, we got the diagnosis. Frankie will be starting chemo and radiation next week and we ask for continued prayers at this time. Frankie is a smart, witty, active boy and is ready to fight this, however, we know that a parent's job is never done. Since Frankie's first hospital visit on 11/27, my sister, Monica, has had to be out of work. As many of us know, the bills don't stop and as a single mother, she's had to deal with all of the financial responsibilities on her own for the household and the boys.
