Help Eugenio get a ministry & emergency vehicle

Donation protected

*UPDATE: The goal has been REACHED, glory to God! If you are still interested in helping Eugenio with a donation, 100% of received funds will go toward the village ministry base (vehicle registration, gasoline, etc.) Thank you for your continued generosity and acts of love toward others!

Located in interior Brazil, this ministry base exists to love on this community, to share the hope of Christ, to disciple and care for youth and their families, and to foster disciples who make God known in surrounding villages...

Eugênio needs a vehicle:

  1. for making disciples. “But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?” (Romans 10:14-15). It’s been incredible to get a taste of transformation occurring here that can only be explained by the power of our hope in Christ. This missionary base and church arrived just a handful of years ago and has made an incredible impact — from being vandalized by gangs to having some of those very members become saved and involved in ministry themselves. It’s a gift to see generational cycles broken as its kids and families find hope in Jesus Christ. Many of their youth have accepted Christ and desire to share the hope of Christ with other villages. They take a number of kids who frequent the base to visit closeby communities weekly (though some are a very hot hour walk away). With a vehicle, not only could these communities be reached more easily and invited to church events — other communities could also be reached. There are countless communities in the backlands of Brazil without any church, pastor, or missionary.
  2. for emergency situations. Sometimes it takes a scary situation for us to truly understand a need. 3 months ago, a boy almost died in my arms here. We were fortunate that someone was in the area to give us a bumpy ride to the hospital half an hour away. That was certainly not the first time that one of these kids was badly injured, nor the last. This community needs a vehicle for emergency situations, and how wonderful it would be for that to come from the community’s Christian ministry center.
  3. to accept service teams. This Christmas season, JOCUM Eugênio is welcoming its first team from the US to run a Bible school here. It’s always a challenge trying to figure out how to get anyone, let alone a group, into the community, and this limits opportunities.
  4. for basic needs of the ministry base. Twice a week, a usually packed van passes through Eugênio at 6:30am, which is how they currently get groceries. JOCUM Eugenio also has plans to build a small education center and a home for some of its current (and hopefully future) leaders. A full van used as public transportation on some mornings at 6:30am is not only difficult for grocery runs — it doesn’t work for bringing in larger resources necessary for construction, etc.
