PTOC SUMMER YOUTH PROJECT
Donation protected
As a Parent and Child Coach and Mentor and a Youth Worker I became aware of a lack of activities available for young people in this area during holidays, most Youth Clubs close and the alternatives are costly and out of many family’s reach financially. My children found the holidays challenging for different reasons, my son who has autism and adhd became bored and struggled with no routine which led to him getting into problematic situations, my daughter was bullied at school and struggled with feelings of loneliness and social media posts made her feel isolated. Many parents find themselves in similar situations which are difficult to manage especially for those who have to continue to work during these times. Many parents I work with are already worrying about the upcoming holidays and for this reason I am launching the PTOC Summer Youth Project SOS, I will be taking August off from my paid job to organise the project which will run 3 full days per week, it will include a youth club, various activities, inspirational speakers and hope to provide 3 meals per day and a couple of organised trips.
Everyone participating is doing so voluntarily, we have applied for a grant which will pay towards food and equipment but this will not cover the cost of all we are hoping to offer so we have set up a Go fund me page to raise £1000.00 to help with food costs as well as day trips, any donations will be very gratefully received.
