Providing for Glen’s Girls
Spende geschützt
On Father’s Day 2022, Glen Green got an unusual headache. Because of the pressure behind his face, he thought it was possibly a sinus infection. A week went by without the headache getting better, even though he got a lot of extra sleep, took antibiotics and pain relievers, and tested himself for Covid in case it was that. The headache continued to get worse so on June 30th, he went to the ER and sadly, that was the last time his family would see him awake. He went into acute decline while in the ER due to a large grade 4 glioblastoma blocking the left ventricle and not allowing spinal fluids to drain from his brain.
Almost a month has gone by since then and many attempts have been made to save his life and wake him up, including multiple surgeries. Tragically, he has continued to decline and the decision has been made to remove the ventilator to allow him to transition to Heaven peacefully on Thursday, July 28th, surrounded by loved ones.
Glen has had such an impact in all of our lives with his friendly, jovial spirit and love for those around him. He truly is a man who would give you the shirt off his back, or pick you up in the middle of the night if your car broke down. He was always there to help his friends and family and show his love through service.
The loss of Glen will have an impact on the world, but on no one more so than his family. The loss of him as a father, husband, son, step-father, brother, and friend will be immense, but it will have the longest-term financial detriment on his loving wife Kyla, and his three young daughters Katerina (17 years), Elizabeth (21 months), and Katherine (7 months). Glen was working two jobs to provide for his family and unfortunately, did not have life insurance.
I am Kyla’s best friend and was the matron of honor at her and Glen’s wedding. I have her permission to start this fundraiser to assist Kyla and the girls. Obviously, there are going to be a lot of expenses, and Glen’s incomes were the only source of income for them. Everything raised from this fundraiser (that isn’t taken by gofundme) will go to Kyla to help pay for funeral expenses, moving expenses, diapers, formula, and everyday items during this transition period. Although she has a lot of love and support from family, it will not be easy for Kyla becoming a single mom with two babies. Any extra funds will be put in trust for the girls. Katerina wants to become a nurse and will be starting college in the fall, and the two little girls will grow up without knowing their father. Thank you for your consideration as anything helps and will be greatly appreciated.
