On 25th March '25, we visited the ‘Bush’ in Kensington, Cape Town – a far cry from Kensington, London. What we found was a patch of wasteland, scattered with litter and tin huts. But within moments, we were making instruments, singing nursery songs, and connecting with toddlers and their mothers. The session ended with the story of Bartimaeus, prayer, and words of encouragement.
Maggie inspired the mothers with creative ways to engage children while sharing the struggles of motherhood to help the mothers ‘feel seen’. Denise, a 60-year-old powerhouse, is leading this project with incredible dedication. "My mission isn’t complete yet," she says, and we’re here to support her.
Despite the challenges, the project is thriving. But there are simple needs: guttering for a porta cabin, which is used as a meeting point, and a rainwater tank. There's no running water or electricity in the area.
We’re asking for your help to fund this super basic need. Your donation will directly support the purchase and installation of guttering and a water tank.
Please consider contributing, and if you wish, leave a message of encouragement so we can pass it on to these women and let them feel seen.
Thank you for your support.
Tyron, Maggie, Savannah, Allegra, and Gabriel.
