Hi, my name is Zoe, and together with my sister Izora, we’re starting this fundraiser to help families in our hometown of Daanbantayan, Cebu, our beloved home, which was heavily affected by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Bogo City on October 1 (Philippine time). Our government described the event as strongest earthquake ever recorded in Northern Cebu.

Although the epicenter was in Bogo City, Daanbantayan is only about 30–40 minutes away and was also hit hard. Many homes were damaged or destroyed, and people are struggling without electricity, clean water, or access to safe shelter due to continued aftershocks and tsunami warnings.

Right now, many families are sleeping on the side of the road or have evacuated to higher ground. They’re afraid that the remaining parts of their homes could collapse during the aftershocks or in case of a tsunami. It’s an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.

Thankfully, our immediate family is safe — but many of our friends, neighbors, and relatives have lost everything. Because Daanbantayan is in the far north of Cebu, it’s been difficult for aid to reach the area quickly, and basic necessities are running out.

We’re hoping to raise about $350 to $500, to help provide:

-Food packs and clean drinking water

-Basic medical supplies

-Emergency shelter and clothing

Even a small amount can make a real difference. With just $5, we can buy a couple of bottles of water, and $10 can get us 2–3 packs of bottled water (12 bottles per pack) to distribute to families in need.

Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly to local families in need. Izora and I will personally make sure the support reaches them.
