My name is Samuel Gracida and I am a music therapist, originally from Mexico but now based in Germany.

This year, two incredible organizations—Kids International Ministries (https://www.kidsim.org/) in the Philippines and the NEEDED Institute (needed.org.mx) in Mexico—are creating opportunities to support children and families facing significant challenges.

Both groups are doing meaningful work to provide safety, education, and resources to vulnerable communities. After volunteering with them in the past, I’ve seen firsthand the impact they’re making, and I want to support their efforts in any way I can.

The Plan
During short visits planned for 2025—a week in the Philippines in March and a week in Mexico in the summer—I’ll be offering music-based activities designed to inspire creativity, connection, and self-expression.

Since these trips are brief, the focus will be on leaving resources that can be used long after the visits are over. Musical instruments purchased locally will stay at the institutions, providing tools for ongoing activities and programs.

More about my partner organizations:
  • KIDS International Ministries: KIDS works to break the cycle of poverty in local communities. They believe poverty is rooted in a mindset, not just a lack of money. Their goal is to help individuals understand their true identity in Christ by addressing physical and spiritual needs. Through their children’s home, Christian education, birthing clinic, youth and family outreach, feeding programs, and volunteer opportunities, they aim to transform lives.
  • NEEDED: They aim to provide the comprehensive rehabilitation of girls, adolescents, and young women who have survived violence. They work to address the consequences of severe abuse—physical, psychological, and educational. They promote the development of tools and skills, enhancing individuals’ capacities on a psycho-emotional, social, and educational level, to ensure they can lead dignified lives free from violence.

How You Can Help:
  • Donate – Contributions will go directly toward purchasing instruments such as drums, ukuleles, shakers, and tambourines.
  • Share – Help spread the word to others who might want to contribute.
  • Sponsor an Instrument – Donations can be earmarked for specific instruments, and updates about their use will be shared.

A commitment to transparency
I will provide proof of receipt for the funds collected, as well as receipts for the purchase of instruments. In the event that either trip cannot take place, I will issue refunds. Below is a sample budget for one location, estimated at €1500—bringing the total for both locations to €3000.
