My family is going through a very difficult time. My stepmom, Desi, who helped raise me and gave me a little brother after I lost my own mother at a young age, has passed away. The last two weeks have been a painful and emotional journey, as she was in the ICU and fighting for her life. She held on as long as she could.

Desi has always been a light in our lives. No matter how hard things were, she showed up for us. Losing her has left a heavy void, especially for my little brother and my father. If you’ve ever experienced loss, you know how overwhelming and paralyzing it can be. On top of the emotional weight, there are medical bills, rent, funeral costs, and the challenge of trying to stay afloat while grieving.
