My name is Angelina and I live here in St. Cloud Minnesota. I love living in a place where there are so many cultures represented in our stores, our schools, and our neighborhoods. Right now, due to increased ICE activity in our area, and the way they are currently operating, there is much fear among immigrants with legal documents, and those without.

For each of these people there is a story of why they are here, in St. Cloud instead of their homeland. There is a story about why they do or do not have their green card, or citizenship yet. For each of these people there are stories of loss, fear, and a fight to survive that came long before what they are endearing currently. I don't know everyone's full story. What I do know is that I don't need to know their story in order to offer them food, housing, and medical care.

I plead with you to support our friends and neighbors in the ways you can. There is a lot that we can't control right now, and I urge you to act on behalf of the St. Cloud area Immigrant community in the ways you can. I am setting this GoFundMe up as one way you can help. I can't tell you much about the families it will be used for, as in some cases that would cause much fear, and in other cases it might put people in danger. What I can tell you is that many people are struggling to meet their rent payments right now or have money for groceries and medical care because it is not safe for them to go to work, or if they are still going to work, hours are being cut due to less business because of the current situation.

*Funds will be used to help people pay for their rent and basic utilities. People like the father who with tears in his eyes told me "If it were just me, I'd go stay at a homeless shelter right now, but I don't want that for my kids."

* Funds will be used to purchase groceries and necessities for the people who are afraid to leave their homes right now.

*Funds will be used to help cover costs of in-home nurse visits for individuals who need medical help but are too scared to go to a hospital/clinic.

A few things to note:

I have an accountability system set up for how funds are being distributed and accounted for. This system involves 6 people from local non-profits and organizations in the St. Cloud area that are commited to regularly checking on the accounting end of the distribution of the funds donated.

I also am working with various local non-profits, organizations, and schools to help identify people who need this assistance.
