Provide care packs to preemie parents at Christmas

Hi, we're Katy and Tom, parents to our beautiful baby boy Finley. If you know us personally, you will already know that despite Finley only being 5 months old, he has already had quite a journey! Finley was born at 31 weeks and 4 days weighing just 2lb 7oz. He spent the first 6 weeks of his life in neonatal intensive care units between Liverpool Women's and Whiston Hospital. During these six weeks he fought many battles (as did we as parents) and together we overcome the odds to bring a healthy and strong miracle baby home after 42 days of hospital stays.

Unfortunately in circumstances like ours, staying in hospital with your baby is not an option. This meant heartbreaking nights at home without our baby after visiting him as much as we could to give him all the cuddles, skin to skin and kangaroo care possible.

Spending days on end in a hospital chair beside your newborn's incubator/cot is tough beyond words. That is why our little family have decided to raise some money to make some care packages for parents of the baby's who will be spending their first Christmas in NICU. We know this won't change the heartbreak these parents will face, but having personally received our own little Easter gift when Finley had his first Easter at 5 days old spent in NICU, we know what a little pick me up the smallest of gestures can be.

The more money we can raise, the more parents we can provide these care packages to which will include items for both parents and their new baby.
