Help raise funds for The Community Heartbeat Trust
In 8 weeks time I will complete a 5k run. Engaging in weekly training with the support of J&M running. For all that know me, you will be aware that running and I are not best friends! I am completing this challenge to raise money in aid of The Community Heartbeat Trust and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so to me. My Dad, the children’s beloved Grandad, passed away 2 years ago of sudden cardiac arrest whilst out for a seafront walk in Dorset on holiday. Two passer-by’s carried out CPR and located and used the public defibrillator. They gave Dad the best chance of possible survival, all before the paramedics arrived. Sadly Dad did not pull through, but the quick action of members of the public, their knowledge and a fully maintained public defibrillator all gave him the best chance possible. In his memory we would like to raise funds for The Community Heartbeat Trust. CHT provides communities with Emergency Life-saving tools to act in the event of Cardiac Arrest. Through community awareness and training, providing defibrillator equipment and helping communities cover all governance and liability aspects of projects. Working with our communities they monitor and support the long term life of Community Defibrillator Schemes (cPAD) via our online governance system and provide post rescue counselling for members of the public that attend incidents as lay person rescuers. The use of a defibrillator on a casualty of cardiac arrest within 3-5 minutes of collapse can increase the chance of survival by up to 50-70%.
Together let’s help to save lives.
