⚠️ What’s Happening

In the breathtaking mountains of Kyparissi, at the heart of South Parnonas, construction has begun on massive industrial wind installations. Under the guise of “green growth,” entire mountain landscapes are being bulldozed, deforested, and reshaped to make way for colossal wind turbines and access roads.

This is not sustainable development.

This is industrialization of a natural treasure.

What’s at Stake

Irreversible Landscape Damage: Ancient forest will be cut down, roads blasted through the mountains, and delicate ecosystems destroyed.

Impact on Tourism & Local Livelihoods: The scenic beauty that draws visitors from around the world will be replaced by an industrial wind park. Farmers, beekeepers, ranchers, and small businesses will lose their source of income.

Noise & Environmental Disruption: Turbine noise and environmental stress will degrade quality of life and harm wildlife.

This is not a fight against renewable energy — it’s a fight against reckless, large-scale industrial projects in the wrong places.

We grew up surrounded by these landscapes. They shaped our memories, our families, our identity. If we win this fight, our children and grandchildren will inherit the same living village and natural beauty that we did.

Προστατεύουμε το Κυπαρίσσι - Προστατεύουμε τη φυσική ομορφιά

Στη θέση Μαρατζάκι- Πυργάκι έχει ήδη ξεκινήσει το έργο εγκατάστασης και

λειτουργίας αιολικού σταθμού παραγωγής ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας.

Εμείς, ο Πολιτιστικός και Επιμορφωτικός Σύλλογος Κυπαρισσίου “Το Καστράκι” και ο

σύλλογος Kyparissioton Society of San Francisco, εκπροσωπώντας και άλλους

συμπολίτες μας (σχεδόν 2.000 υπογραφές), στεκόμαστε ενάντια σε αυτό καταστροφικό

έργο!

Ακόμα κι αν δεν καταφέρουμε να σταματήσουμε το έργο η δράση μας είναι σημαντική,

διότι προγραμματίζεται η τοποθέτηση περίπου άλλων 50 ανεμογεννητριών εκ των

οποίων οι 25 θα είναι πάνω από το Κυπαρίσσι.

Τα επιχειρήματά μας (περιληπτικά):

1. Μελέτη Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων (της Β. Κατή) προτείνει ότι το Χιονοβούνι

πρέπει να ενταχθεί στα Απάτητα Βουνά (ΠΑΔ - Περιοχή Άνευ Δρόμων).

2. Μελέτη του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών αποδεικνύει ότι το Χιονοβούνι είναι σημείο

συνάντησης (Ασίας-Αφρικής-Ευρώπης) μεταναστευτικών πουλιών που αποτελεί

μείζον θέμα βιοποικιλότητας και ως εκ τούτου η περιοχή έχει ενταχθεί από τον

9/25 από την UNESCO στο απόθεμα βιόσφαιρας.

3. Σύμφωνα με τον διδάκτορα Κων. Μαρινάκο και με τον Ευρωπαικό Οργανισμό

Περιβάλλοντος “ η διάνοιξη δρόμων στη φύση επιφέρει αλλαγή της χρήσης γης

και απώλεια βιοποικιλότητας.”

4. Μελέτη του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων αναφέρει πως οι δασικές περιοχές

καίγονται 2.7 λιγότερες φορές από αυτές που έχουν δρόμους! Το Κυπαρίσσι

είναι δυσπρόσιτο και απομακρυσμένο και τίθεται θέμα ασφάλειας των

κατοίκων σε περίπτωση πυρκαγιάς.

5. Λοιπές τραγικές συνέπειες:

- Πλήγμα στον εναλλακτικό τουρισμό

- Πλήγμα στον πρωτογενή τομέα

- Πλήγμα στην χλωρίδα και την πανίδα

- Καταστροφή ελατοδάσους

- Ηχορύπανση

- Ακαλαισθησία

- Καταστροφή παραδοσιακού οικισμού
