Protecting Frontline Heroes

Donation protected
Thousands of essential workers in the Niagara region are making sacrifices to protect and serve our community. To help protect our local heroes, Bisep co, an advanced health-technology company has generously allowed CiviConnect to use their 3D printers to print face shields to protect frontline workers in Niagara.

Now, we are asking community members to donate what they can to help CiviConnect and Bisep produce medical-grade face shields that have been praised by countless healthcare workers in Niagara for their durability, flexibility, comfort, and easy ability to wash and re-use. The materials to produce one face shield cost $5. Our goal is to donate 500 face shields to local heroes on behalf of community members.

All face shields will be delivered by CiviConnect and our volunteers.  We will continue sending updates to donors about where their donations are being sent.

Each of us has a role to play in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and offering meaningful help to our local heroes who work on the front lines to keep our communities safe. Thank you for helping CiviConnect and Bisep support Niagara’s Heroes. Together, we will get through this pandemic.

*This is a non-profit campaign. The funds will only be used to cover the cost of materials to create the face shields.

Bisep creates new technologies and devices to enhance human performance in sport, exercise & rehabilitation. The ARMM (Ambulation, Retraining and Mobility Mechanism) achieves this by attaching a patient’s wheelchair directly to their walker in a safe and adaptable manner. Since creating the ARMM, BISEP has garnered interest from both the medical and business community. Bisep has participated in several business competitions including winning 3 top prizes at the 2016 Brock University Blueprint competition, winning the ‘Fan Favourite’ prize at the 2016 IITAC Conference and being named a runner-up at the 2016 Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce IGNITE Competition. Bisep has the support of the Goodman School of Business BioLinc business incubator, Niagara College’s Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre, Niagara Region Long-Term Care & Retirement facilities, ergonomic and motor learning researcher Dr. Jae Patterson and spinal cord injury researcher Dr. Dave Ditor.
