Protecting a New Mom and Her Daughter

I’m a brand new single Mother. Maddox was born on July 4th 2024. I am doing my best to rest/recover and bond with my baby girl. Recently things have been rather difficult.

As I am currently on maternity leave, I do not have any disposable income or means to make any extra money at this time. I am now in need of an attorney. Unfortunately, my ex and I are not able to work through our differences. He has a violent, criminal background and I am afraid for mine and her well-being should he succeed. I have filed for primary custody of her. Protecting her is crucial! I have worked my entire pregnancy in preparation to be able to go on non payed maternity leave. I worked all the way until two days before I gave birth. I did not anticipate having to go through a custody battle with her father while she is still so young. All while I am still recovering from giving birth and navigating being a brand new mother. I have very little to no help due to my family all living out of state. Any contribution is helpful as we enter into a grueling custody battle.

I am not someone who usually asks for much help from others as I know we all have our own struggles in life and each have our own challenges we face daily.
