Protect Your Rights: Support Our Booth

I am putting together a group of volunteers to complete Medical Power of Attorney (MDPOA) forms for the community at Gay Pride 2025 on June 28 and 29. I’m hoping to raise enough to cover the cost of the booth and supplies needed. We have been approved for the booth!! I’m so very excited, but need your help with covering the cost of not only the booth but the forms and supplies needed. Anything extra will be used to purchase goodies to give away at the booth!
What is an MDPOA?
It’s a legal document that designates someone to make medical decisions for you if you're unable to.
Why is this important?
In the state of Colorado, there is no default on who becomes your medical decision maker if you haven’t appointed one. This gives you the opportunity to designate who that person will be.
I'm married, so I don’t need one.
FALSE!! In Colorado, there is no pecking order.
A "pecking order" for medical decision makers, also known as a surrogate decision-making hierarchy, typically puts the patient's spouse as the primary decision-maker, followed by adult children, then parents, and finally siblings, though the exact order can vary based on state laws and the existence of a designated healthcare power of attorney document.
Everyone should have an MDPOA, and also a conversation with their designated MDPOA to be sure that individual(s) knows what your wishes would be.
