Protect Westchase: Fight Rezoning on Nine Eagles
Donation protected
Help Us Fight the Rezoning and Giant Tower in Westchase! Trial is May 14th!
I am a plaintiff in the lawsuit against Skyway Towers, T-Mobile and Hillsborough county to fight agains putting a 195 ft cell tower near our homes, and to fight the The Philippine Cultural Center at 14301 Nine Eagles Rd trying to rezone to allow social events until 11pm, 7 days a week, adding 250 car parking spaces on their property. These changes will result in significant safety and traffic concerns for residents of The Eagles, Westwood Lakes, Waterchase and HamptonChase, as well as Mary Bryant Elementary and Farnell Middle School. The lawsuit has been filed, initial funding was secured, now additional funding is needed to take this all the way!
Why Are We Fighting This?
Safety Concerns – An event space and cell tower could pose significant safety hazards to pedestrians and surrounding homes.
Impact on Property Values – Studies suggest that both event spaces hosting noisy events and cell towers in residential areas reduce home resale values.
Loss of Quality of Life – All surrounding residential neighborhoods will be affected by significant noise and traffic disruption
Environmental Concerns – The parking lot and tower will be placed next to the homes of Bald Eagles, Wood Storks and Gopher Tortoises, all of which are protected species in the state of Florida
Constitutional Rights – We believe the approval process was flawed and that our voices were not properly heard.
We will ONLY use the funds raised here to cover:
• Legal fees & court costs
• Expert consultations (engineers, cell tower experts, real estate experts) to use in the court cases
We will keep full accounting of funds needed and used, and excess funds will be returned proportionately as soon as we are able. We need your help to make this trial on May 14th a success - please donate NOW!
Our fight will not only support our local communities, but could eventually serve and support all Floridians if we are able to take this to the state level. Help us protect our residential communities across the state!
Where We Are Now
This legal battle will require additional funds to attack the rezoning immediately and bring the case to the State level. Any amount will help so please donate whatever you are able! If we get 250 people to donate $200 we can take this to the state level and serve all of Florida!
We are calling on our neighbors, friends, and concerned citizens to stand with us and help fund the legal fight to protect not just our community, but future communities that will be affected by the same unconstitutional process.
What Happens to Excess Funds?
If we receive more funds than needed, any excess funds will be proportionally refunded once the lawsuit is completed.
This is our neighborhood, our homes, and our future. Let’s make sure we have a voice in decisions that impact our community!
Donate today and share this campaign! Every dollar counts.
Together, we can make a difference.
