Protect Students: Back Alyssa's Legal Battle

Hi,

My name is Alyssa Plaza and I was terminated for protecting my male athlete from bullying. I was let go without warning, without giving my side of the story and without giving my word in an investigation that I didn't even know I was part of. My goal as a teacher is to keep my students safe and to make sure they return home the way they came in, in one piece. I never want a student to contemplate suicide because I will do something about it as a mandated reporter. Unfortunately I had to take matters into my own hands to protect my students since administration and the district failed him as well as other students, some who have already committed suicide.

Please read the petition listed from Change.Org as the school board unanimously voted to terminate me and my teaching credentials for 5 years.

Also, please watch the school board meeting to see how the school board did not listen to these minors as they poured their hearts out to them.

The money I am raising is to pay for an attorney to get my teaching credentials back and eventually reach a settlement. NO STUDENT deserves to go to school feeling unsafe and feeling as if they cannot confide in an adult. No teacher should get terminated for standing up for a student when no one else would!
