Protect Quinton: Support Legal Appeal Against Warehouse

Donation protected

In Quinton Township, a developer has won court approval to build a large spec warehouse on a 20-acre site just off Route 49, within one mile of hundreds of homes, a school, athletic fields, and a Revolutionary War battle site. Residents in this radius face immediate, direct impacts: 24/7 truck traffic (up to 750 truck trips daily), diesel fumes, noise, pollution, flooding risks from paved-over wetlands, and plummeting property values (studies show 5–20% drops near logistics hubs). Quinton residents lost at trial, but an appeal is possible. (Appeal is estimated at $10,000 in legal fees.)
We do not want to surrender as we have legitimate grounds to file this appeal, and believe a chance not taken is an opportunity for success missed.

This has implications for all of Salem County as the “blood is in the water” so to speak. The fight started in March 2023 as the result of the weak municipal land use laws that so many of our communities suffer from. Unfortunately the Master Plans written 10, 20, or even 30 years ago didn’t take into account the possibility of mega warehousing being an optional use in our rural areas. Quinton’s Master Plan is 30 years old, it’s been reevaluated and revised at approximately 10 year intervals but not comprehensively overhauled due to the costs involved. South Jersey and Salem County in particular is full of comparatively cheap land that must be protected from predatory development. The previously low relative threat of inaction guarantees that Quinton’s isn’t the only inadequate plan in place. Therefore it falls to the residents to protect our way of life, the safety of our children, the health and well being of our families, the value of our homes and properties, and the future of our towns until our municipalities can be persuaded to act. The old adage is true, “you never know what you have until it’s gone”.

We are asking for your donation with a deadline of November 19th 2025. If we do not reach our goal via this GoFundMe and personal donations all monies will be returned automatically risk free.
