Little River County Concerned Citizens on Solar is a group of residents united to protect our rural community from the proposed development of a 2000-acre solar farm and a 40-acre battery energy storage system (BESS). This project would be built directly on top of a thriving forest, home to countless species of wildlife, and right next to the homes of families who have lived here for generations. Our concerns are wide-ranging: the environmental impact on our forests and wildlife, potential health risks, the effect on property values, and the financial burden placed on our county through significant tax abatements and public financing for the project.
Our group has already organized many community meetings and a few protests to raise awareness and voice our concerns. We have now taken legal action, filing suit against the judge involved in the matter, and are working hard to ensure our voices are heard. The funds raised will go directly toward legal fees and outreach efforts, helping us continue to fight for transparency, accountability, and the protection of our community and environment.
We believe that Little River County deserves a say in its future. By supporting our cause, you are helping us stand up for our homes, our wildlife, and the values that make our rural community special. Every contribution brings us closer to making sure our voices are not ignored. Thank you for standing with us.
