WHO WE ARE
We are the Protect Grove City movement working towards responsible regulation of data center development in Grove City, Ohio.

This movement was organized by local neighbors and community members who have banned together to influence Grove City Council Members to take pro-active measures to protect our city.

We are working around the clock to inform the residents of Grove City, Ohio that a Texas Data Center developer (Headwaters) is seeking approval to build a 300+ acre data center on Rensch Road.

After organizing in mid-April, this resident-led community coalition has

  • Distributed nearly 3,000 paper fliers to residents who live within 2 miles of the proposed site.
  • Purchased and delivered over 200 yard signs to residents who want to take a stand against the Rensch Road Data Center project.
  • Gathered nearly 4,000 signatures to let GC City Council know that a moratorium on data centers in Grove City needs to happen NOW! ( sign here: change.org/ProtectGroveCity )

The mission of Protect Grove City is simple:
  • We are asking the City of Grove City to place a moratorium on building any data centers in Grove City until all residents are fully informed, our resources are protected, and the long-term impact on our community is carefully evaluated

WHAT WE ARE RAISING FUNDS FOR
We are raising funds for three specific purposes:

1. Spreading awareness. All yard signs, flyers, and other informational materials have been purchased and distributed by residential volunteers to help spread awareness to the residents of Grove City who are not yet aware of the proposed Rensch Road Data Center Project - and we have many areas of the city that still need canvassing.

2. Website, records, and tools. Hosting ProtectGroveCity.org, where updates, records, and news can be easily searchable by the public so that residents and volunteers can keep the record straight.

3. Legal counsel. This could be a long fight that may include a recall petition of any city council members or the mayor of Grove City should a moratorium NOT be placed at the June 1st city council meeting and/or future ballot initiatives to propose referendums that require voter approval of future hyperscale facility development.

Every dollar contributed has been and will continue to be tracked and accounted for. The Protect Grove City movement runs on transparency, and our finances will be no different.

We are crowd-funding NOW because the next steps will cost real money.

Calls to Action:
  • Sign the change.org/ProtectGroveCity petition and share it
  • Email or call Grove City Council members and demand that they listen to their constituents - data centers don't vote, WE DO!
  • Attend all GC City Council meetings and BRING A NEIGHBOR
  • If you are able, please donate to help support the effort
  • Follow the Protect Grove City Facebook page
  • Go to ProtectGroveCity.org to stay connected to the fight!
