Protect Florida’s Public Waters – Keep Anchoring Legal Defense Fund
The Town of Palm Beach is trying to enforce anchoring and mooring restrictions that hand over public waters to wealthy waterfront owners, while locking ordinary boaters out. These limits violate Florida law, the Constitution, and the long-standing principle that navigable waters belong to everyone.
One of the harshest rules is the 30-day anchoring limit. This doesn’t just punish local cruisers—it harms seasonal boaters and snowbirds who spend winters here, bringing tourism dollars and supporting marine businesses. Families who travel south for the season find themselves shut out, forced to move on while private docks on public land remain filled year-round.
The town and its backers have deep pockets and expect ordinary boaters won’t be able to afford a legal fight. This fund proves them wrong. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a statement that the public has a voice too—and the resources to stand up for its rights.
Funds raised here go directly to attorney fees, court filings, and legal action to challenge these restrictions. Updates will be shared to show where donations go and how the case progresses.
Together we can hold the line on fairness, protect access for snowbirds and locals alike, and ensure Florida’s public waters remain open to all.
