We are led to believe that the developer intends to submit revised plans imminently.
Thanks to the generosity of local residents — and a huge amount of voluntary work — we have already presented a strong, evidence-based objection to the proposed Green Belt development at Butterfly Bank (25/3735/FUL).
With your support, we were able to instruct independent professional consultants to review the planning, flooding and drainage submissions. Their reports identified serious concerns within the application and strengthened the case against it.
In addition, multiple statutory bodies have formally objected to or rejected the proposals in their current form, including:
- The Environment Agency
- Cheshire East Council's Lead Local Flood Authority
- United Utilities
- Manchester Airport
- The Housing Strategy Team
The planning committee date currently remains 25th March 2026.
This means we will have a very limited window to analyse what has changed.
We cannot rely on the developer’s summary of their own revisions. Independent scrutiny is essential.
We currently have £2,900 remaining from the previous fundraising campaign — and we are extremely grateful for that support.
However, commissioning further professional reviews of the revised plans is likely to cost significantly more than that.
For clarity and transparency, we have launched this new GoFundMe campaign specifically to fund the next stage of professional analysis.
Every pound raised will go directly towards instructing independent planning and technical consultants.
Without expert review, our ability to properly challenge technical claims is severely limited.
This is Green Belt land, once it is built on, it is gone forever.
Do YOU believe that more development will not make flooding worse.?
