We are concerned citizens of Anson County, North Carolina, working to stop one of the largest solar farms on the East Coast.

The Anson Energy Complex, being constructed by Duke Energy, is projected to destroy approximately 3,400 acres of timberland in close proximity to over 100 families, as well as the Pee Dee Wildlife Refuge, which is a few miles north. This facility is projected to have approximately 19 acres of battery storage facilities that utilize lithium-ion batteries that have had numerous instances of fires, which the surrounding communities have no way of fighting. Anson County is a Tier One county, making it among the poorest in the state. The citizens nearby the projected facility could greatly use any assistance possible to protect the community, environment, and amazing wildlife habitat in the area.
