Support Project 6ix to interrupt domestic violence

"Project 6ix by is built on the principal that no matter who we are and where we come from, everything we do as an individual has an equal or greater effect on the collective, so we must start holding ourselves accountable to making those effects positive and with the collective in mind. We model our methodology after ecosystems in nature that have proven resiliency time and time again, in spite of interruptions to their wellbeing. When allowed to thrive and heal from trauma (e.g. hurricanes), in harmony with the universe's natural rhythm, these ecosystems have an innate ability to revitalize themselves. Humanity must use this same model to enact sustainable, societal change, both at an individual and collective level."

- Jacqueline "Jackie" Xavier, Creative Director of Mama2Mama Gifts (aka M2M Gifts) and Founder of Project 6ix

I am a mother to a Caribbean-born daughter who guides and motivates everything that I do. I want to leave a better world for her than the one I was born into. While living in the islands and subsequently being displaced back to the continental US due to a natural disaster, I learned that even though Mother Nature can rear her ugly head from time to time, She always has solutions to society's greatest issues, but we need to listen, learn, and let Her provide those answers.

My pronouns are she/her.

Project 6ix LLC (formerly M2M Gifts) is a passion project turned social enterprise. It began as a small, care package business on Etsy in 2017 and has evolved into is an impact company that curates conscious partnerships rooted in community. We use a "heart-led, business-fed" nature based approach that engages longstanding, local community actors and non-profit organizations doing work in areas including but not limited to: domestic and intimate partner violence, street violence, and maternal mental health.

Through strategic and intentional partnerships with these organizations, we leverage all the best parts of our private sector model to create radically imagined opportunities for economic empowerment and social entrepreneurship amongst their beneficiaries.

This model of public service-private sector engagement was piloted through our recent #May28 Initiative, Rewriting HERstory: Community Care Packages for Sexual Assault Survivors.

That project, although implemented at a local level in Chicago, sent a global message of solidarity to millions of other women who were/are at the ugly receiving end of gender-based violence. Together, our small May 28 team was successful in engaging small, local businesses, independent healers and service providers, and community-based organizations to create care packages for sexual assault survivors in Chicago.

At the end of the initiative, women in need received one-of-a-kind care packages, small businesses captured new audiences, and many of the sexual assault survivors are now continuing to use the service providers who sponsored the initiative, which included licensed therapists and reiki practitioners. It was a local project that contributed to a global movement, and that is what Project 6ix specializes in: creating ripple effects. We like to work with people who are known to be "quiet riots" or "silent storms."

Welcome to the movement. Thank you. Salamat. Gracias. Asante.
