Project Zambia was founded in 2023 by Sania Patel. The organization works to combat issues such as STDs/STIs and period poverty, while also suppressing healthcare, educational, and gender inequality. The donations earned will go straight to her work in Zambia.
Sania is currently living in Lusaka, Zambia, and is looking to raise $200 USD to provide reusable menstrual pads to 35 girls at the Home of Merciful Beginnings Orphanage. With a lack of menstrual education materials and period products, this initiative is crucial in fighting the prevalence of period poverty within Zambia. Through our in-person distribution, we hope to help girls understand proper menstrual hygiene practices, thus limiting their ability to contract urinary tract and reproductive infections (which often lead to future infertility and birth complications).
Additionally, she is looking for approximately $500 USD to buy needed school supplies for students at the Lotus Secondary School. All other funds will be collected to help fund efforts to renovate the school's sanitary facilities in efforts to combat the recent outbreak of Cholera.
