Pentland School of Music, along with a group of like-minded creatives, plans to preserve Valleyfield House in Penicuik and create a music, dance, performance and arts hub for ALL.

We have ambitious plans to create an accessible community arts hub in historic Valleyfield House, a building deeply rooted in the town's paper making heritage. This project will breathe new life into Penicuik's town centre while preserving a cornerstone of its industrial past.

The plans for the extensive accommodation offered by this building and its grounds, would create a local hub for the Arts and would offer classes, activities and events to meet the needs of the whole community and the wider area. The proposed plans contain suites of teaching rooms, Dance and Drama studio space and performance spaces. In addition rehearsal/performance rooms that can double as Art exhibition space will be available.

We are actively developing partnerships with schools and local groups of all description to provide an all encompassing Community Arts Hub.

Finally, there are plans to have a piano restoration workshop offering apprenticeships, and a bursary scheme to assist funding tuition.

Funds will be used to acquire the building and let us take our first steps on this exciting new project. Gofundme implement an incremental target so please don't feel like we're moving the goalposts when it changes. Our target is £750,000 to purchase the building initially.
