Project Reunite: Syrian refugee sponsorship

PROJECT REUNITE
Amer and his brother Muafaq lived and worked together in their hometown of Damascus, Syria making traditional mosaic woodworking they learned from their father. That is, until the civil war in Syria forced them to leave everything behind. Amer, his wife and three children made it to safely to Canada and are pursuing work and education opportunities, but Muafaq and his family fled later in the war and are living as refugees in Turkey. They are in limbo, safe but not secure, unable to work legally and often going without basic needs like electricity, running water and affordable food. Amer and Mufaq's dream is to reunite their families in Saint John, NB, rebuild their lives and create beautiful mosaic woodwork together again. His family consists of his wife, two sons, teenage daughter, one married daughter with her husband and two small children. Project Reunite is the team that have come around this family to raise the $65,000 needed to pay for their housing, transportation and basic needs during their first year in Canada. We are working hard to bring these families back together through private refugee sponsorship. So far we have the first $13,000 . You can help us achieve this goal and bring this family to Canada by donating to this page. We will keep you updated on our progress!
