Project for Teen mothers in Zimbabwe:Bringing hope

Enhancing Maternal Health Support for Vulnerable Adolescent Girls, Young Women and Teen Mothers in Highfields, Zimbabwe.

 In Zimbabwe, safe maternal health care remains a concern for Vulnerable Adolescents Girls, Young Women (VAGYW) and Teen Mothers limiting their access to comprehensive maternal delivery pack. Despite strides made in recent years in advancing safe maternal health care, significant gaps and challenges are still noticeable in the antenatal and postnatal response for Vulnerable Adolescents Girls and Young Women in Zimbabwe contributing significantly to maternal morbidity and mortality. These young mothers often lack access to essential health information and services which exposes them and their babies to preventable health risks.

 Highfields is one of the high-density suburbs in Zimbabwe characterised by a high population density, child headed families, poverty and limited access and resources to safe maternal health care services. With this background, Fortunate Ngwenya in partnership with Home Of Inspiration group seek to raise funds to support Vulnerable Adolescents Girls, Young Women (VAGYW) and Teen Mothers in need through a GoFundMe campaign. The donation will be channelled towards the purchase of the following items: 

 1. Maternity Delivery Pack eg Cotton wool, maternity pads, razor blades sterile, gloves, cord clamps etc.

2. Baby Diapers

 3. Baby receiving blankets 

4. Baby clothes 

5. Antiseptic spirit 

6. Buckets and Soaps Together, we can support these Vulnerable Adolescents Girls, Young Women (VAGYW) and Teen Mothers in thseir journey towards safe maternal health care.
