I find myself in a position of needing to ask for help' The short version is as a family we want to relocate to WA but due to many unforeseen circumstances over the last couple years we can not do it without financial help. The details are below.
The picture is of Moss and Auntie Onyx walking in Washington, Moss was 3 it was the first time they said they wanted to move there.

My child, Moss and I have long wanted to move to Washington where I have many friends and family already living; We have been trapped in California for over a decade due to a vicious custody battle. Also in 2020 I took custody of Moss' best friend Marci, raising them to adulthood as well.
I have a partner I have been with about 8 years now, who wants to go with us even though he has never been there. We would like to be able to move my parent Stephanie with us, or at least out of assisted living here in Socal, where she will be left alone once we go, into assisted living in WA to keep her near family.

In 2 months we will finally be free from court control to live our lives where and how we choose. For those who know us well you know that when my brother became ill and left us shortly after Moss was born I had a major breakdown and have been on psychiatric disability since. This did make me uniquely qualified and available to raise two mentally ill teens to become stronger healthier individuals as they reach adulthood. I will always be grateful I could be there for them both through the last several difficult years.

A few years ago I started to prepare for our move, saving tax returns and downsizing our belongings. I was doing well until about a year ago. A myriad of unforeseen and expensive circumstances have made it necessary for us to spend our savings and left us living in an RV and waiting out the time until we had freedom from court control.

First, my parent who lived with us had numerous surgeries and health issues which made it necessary for them to relocate to assisted living. Losing her share of the rent made it difficult to keep our place on our own but we were making do. Then in July last year we suddenly lost our apartment without a good reason. This was completely unexpected and we were not prepared. We had thought we would be there till we were free to leave CA. After extensive searching in surrounding areas we discovered no one would rent to us because of my limited income. When this happened we thought there was a very good chance we would be homeless. We tried to find a place for our beloved dog but no shelter would take him. Tragically we finally had to put him down. This was devastating to our family. If I had not finally located the RV situation (which took every penny we had left and a lot we borrowed) we would have been homeless. Since the move, we have also suffered multiple health issues, Then my partner became unemployed for an extended period and we have just been completely unable to save the funds needed for us to leave.

The funds needed would be for the first and last month's rent and deposit on a place in Washington as well as money to rent a truck and buy the gas to move us and our belongings. It would be nice to have a little buffer to give everyone time to find new employment in washington. Moss has been working and will continue to do so once in Washington. Once settled we will need to move my parent to WA as well.

I wouldn't ask if it wasn't truly necessary. We believe we will be able to live easier with our limited income in WA and it will be much better emotionally for Moss to be in a new environment with more family support where we plan to move. We will be truly grateful for any amount you can give to help us. Thank you.
