Proffer Aid Centre for Women and Children Project
At Proffer Aid International Foundation's decade long journey, we aim at establishing a one-stop health care facility that focuses on providing medical and psychosocial services to women and children in Ghana. As part of our community development agenda, ProfferAid is set to build a State of the Art Centre for Women and Children at Ahele Nsuaba, Amasaman, Accra, Ghana. The medical facility will provide health care services and support to women, adolescent girls and children within Amasaman community.
As a youth-led health-based NGO, our commitment to provide our diverse medical, social n psychological training is an internal drive to the communities we serve across the breadth of the country (as could be seen in our social media pages). Our continuous support to the people of Amasaman informs us to have an in-house location where we could provide health services while complementing it with that of our mobile outreach services. The choice of a community in the Domeabra-Obom constituency of Ghana’s Greater Accra Region is relevant given the underlying health issues, the socio-economic challenges in the area of health and wellbeing and to make it accessible to many.
With the increasing population of the area, one would have imagine a reputable health facility staffed and equiped to handle basic health conditions, but that is not the case. The ailing health facility is widely under-resourced to address the plights of most women and children. The unavailability of a responsive technical team plays a significant factor in the choice of the community. We further understand the impact that COVID-19 has raised on the widening deficiency in the health system.
Upon the recognition of our mission, largely seen through our works, the Chiefs and people released an acre of land in the heart of the area to begin the process in the predominantly farming community
Project: The estimated cost evaluation of the project which we seek funding for is (Fifty-three thousand Two Hundred and Thirty-five US Dollars Forty-five cents) US$ 53,235.45. We pledge our commitment to raise USD $28,235.45. As part of our commitment to achieve absolute healthcare for the residents we promised, we are working to honour our pledge and save lives.
Sustainability: The Center's core funding source after construction is through research grants. Administratively, our clients will pay charged based on income group with the affluent paying more.
The end game is simple, to reduce the neonatal and maternal mortality rate and provide the best of care for this category of persons.
